Hi, I’m Kimberlee. Welcome to Beyoutifully Fit! I’m so glad you’re here. I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness, and after going through the many ups and downs of losing weight and getting fit, I wanted to share my journey, struggles, and thoughts about eating well, exercising, and living a healthy and happy life. I hope you’ll find the inspiration and information to improve your own eating and/or exercise habits and live your version of a pretty, healthy, and fit life, (hence the ‘you’ in “Beyoutifully Fit”).

A little more about me…

I’m a 27 year-old freelance writer and social media manager who enjoys working out, cooking and eating healthy food (and the occasional indulgence), exploring new places, playing around with fashion and makeup, and, of course, writing.

I grew up in Northeast Philadelphia and later moved to Bucks County, which is where I currently reside. I went to college at Bloomsburg University and earned my bachelor’s in Mass Communications/Journalism. After college I got a job as an editor at a small publishing company right down the road from me. I really enjoyed working there and gained a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge. But something was missing. While I worked out almost every day and maintained a pretty healthy lifestyle, I wanted my passion for health and fitness to be a bigger part of my life. I also wanted to take my fitness to the next level, which I knew meant stepping off the elliptical and picking up some weights. With some guidance and motivation from my boyfriend, I started working with a personal trainer, and now I’m even more interested in turning my love of health and fitness into a career. While I’m not a certified personal trainer (yet), I am certified in real life. I know that losing weight, eating healthy, building muscle, and living lean is not easy…and not for everyone. I know that the best training routine and meal plan is one that you enjoy and that fits your lifestyle and taste (literally); it’s not the one on the cover of magazines promising to get you 10 pounds thinner in a week. I know that, like beauty, fitness lies in the eyes (and body and mind) of the beholder. Everyone has their own goals and ideas of what it means to live or be fit. For some, it means staying active and eating whole & organic foods; for others it means losing enough weight to be able to run around with the kids and watch them grow up; and for some, it means transforming their physique and competing in fitness competitions.

Through my experiences (you can read more about those in a later post), I’ve gained a better, more realistic mindset about what it means to be healthy and fit, at least to me. (You can read my “fit-losophy” here.) While I’m still a work in progress, I wanted to share what I’ve learned so far and what I continue to learn along this journey, as well as inspire other women to find/define their own version of a beautifully fit. I want Beyoutifully Fit to be a place where you can find the inspiration, information, and motivation to reach your fitness goals and also develop a realistic, healthy self-image of what it means to be beautiful and fit. While I’ll be sharing my own nutrition tips, workouts, recipes, and pieces of my life, I’ll also be covering a variety of health, beauty, and fitness topics.  Additionally, I hope to have some great guest posts from other bloggers and experts in the fitness, nutrition, beauty and health industries.

Whether you’re a fitness newbie, a die-hard Crossfitter, a new mom trying to get your pre-baby body back, a busy career girl looking for quick and healthy recipes, an experienced athlete getting ready to compete in your first fitness competition, or a yo-yo dieter hoping to finally end your weight-loss battle, I hope you’ll find Beyoutifully Fit to be a great resource and positive community for you.
